The Blaustein Pain Grand Rounds have completed the academic year and will restart in the Fall. The first conference will be on September 10, 2010.

Safe Prescribing of Opioids: Zero Unintentional Deaths

This activity has been planned in accordance with the need to educate health care professionals on strategies for improving assessment, treatment, and management of individuals with chronic pain to minimize unintentional prescription opioid overdose. It is intended for health care professionals who treat people with pain.

Pain Connection Support Groups

Non-profit human service agency in Maryland that provides monthly pain support groups, information, referrals and community education in Maryland (Bethesda, Germantown, Howard County, Towson/Baltimore, Prince George's County) and Virginia (Arlington).
A Speaker Series is available in Wheaton. Groups in other languages include the Silver Spring Spanish Speaking Chronic Pain Support Group (Grupo de Apoyo para Personas con Dolores Cronicos de Silver Spring) and Gaithersburg Chinese Speaking/Montgomery County Chronic Pain Awareness Group. The TUSM Masters of Science in Pain Research, Education and Policy is the first and only multidisciplinary master's level pain management program in the United States. CSF Postgraduate Certificate in Pain Management - Online Program
University of California at San Francisco sponsors a program taken entirely online over three consecutive academic quarters. Physicians, nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, physical therapists, physician assistants, researchers and other health professionals can build a solid foundation in multidisciplinary pain assessment and management. The  curriculum is based on the Core Curriculum for Professional Education in Pain created by the International Association for the Study of Pain's Task Force on Professional Education in Pain.
